About Me

I am a 52 year old lapsed hillwalker. I moved to the area in August 2008, after 29 years Down South. I was born in Glasgow though, and spent the first 22 years growing up in East Kilbride.

We live at Mountboy very near to Rossie School, about 6 miles to Montrose. It probably takes a lot longer to drive to Friockheim from here than to walk it, via Rossie Moor.

I managed to get up a few hills in my holidays back then, but having kids later in life put the kybosh on my walking, and, now that we are here, I am looking to get back into it. My fitness is uncertain though, so I hope pity could be taken on me.

I did manage to get up Driesh in April, but decided to leave Mayar for another day. The story of my hillwalking life - that hill at the end of the Bidean nam Bian massif, they made it a Munro after I decided not to extend my walk to it. That was in the days when I had hill legs though.

I look forward to meeting you all, if indeed this is the joining form. Please let me know if I have to do anything else.

Neil.

About Me

Recently retired 63 year old ex hillwalker needing exercise to lose a stone and with ambitions to relive past experiences but only on the nice flat walks as upward travel has lost its allure. Have completed the west highland way, the spey way and the great glen way in the last three years (or could be four - such is the onset of senility) so must still be hope for me yet - walking wise that is.

Unfortunately I tend to be a bit anti-social as I am totally deaf in one ear and have about 25% hearing in the other so I hope the club can cope with that.
