Hi
I am interested in starting walking but cannot find anywhere in the area (Arbroath) I was told about your club but it seems that your walks are mostly hills. Although I would love to try the hill walking, I am a bit apprehensive as to whether I would be able to keep up with everyone with not ever having done hillwalking before. As a complete novice, would I be able to keep up with everyone?

Hi Stuart Thanks for your kind comments you must have been delirious
with lack of sleep! Well done to you and Malcolm on finishing the walk. We had
an interesting stay in Fort William which we could write a book about. We arranged to leave "the bandage" at Kinlochleven but it mysteriously reappeared in our luggage
at Fort William, the thought was there. Gillian was most upset! Look forward to seeing you both at one of our walks. Kay ,Gillian,Linda and Sarah

Can I offer my congratulations to you for having such wonderful members as Gillian, Kay, Linda and Sarah whom I met on the West Highland Way last week They were the most uplifting and cheery people that we could hope to meet. As this was my first long distance walk encouragement was required in abundance and this came from the girls. All i can say is that they are a credit to your club. However I have a question for Gillian "where is my tubular bandage?"........kidding!!

Sorry Bert, did not get round to reading the guestbook till our last meeting, by which time the event was over. Hope you had a good evening. Please keep us in mind for the future. Some of us subscribe to the Scottish Mountaineer, although I must confess I do not read it cover to cover. Thank you again.

You may be interested in attending the Mountain Mind Quiz in the Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus on Wednesday 10 March at 7.30pm, with a slide show starting at 7.10pm. The details are in the current Scottish Mountaineer.Clubs from Forfar, Dundee, Perth and Fife are regulars. I was Friockheim Community Council chairman in the late 80's but only recently found your group. Please come.

Thank you for your kind comments. I must admit I looked at the club history when I joined but have done nothing since. (You know whay they say .....you can't change history). but you are right, it can be updated and hopefully that has now been done so thank you for that also.

Website is now very good, enjoyed looking through the photo gallery which is excellent, history needs to be updated, as I was serving my 3rd year according to the information, in fact I spent 4 years in the chair and Peter has come and gone and now you David are in the chair, which needs to be added. Catch up with you all in time - Steve
